Wheels Up, We're Ready to Go

Greetings from the flight deck of the 2019 Youth Music Mission!  I'll be updating all week with an arrival post in the evening and then a more detailed post the following morning.  So tonight I'll let you know we safely arrived at our destination (which is not Los Angeles and also not Dallas).  And then in the morning I'll post all kinds of groovy pictures from today.

I'm really excited about some new things happening on this tour, which I'll share about as we go along.  The first and most exciting thing (because I don't get out much) is that we have left the church without our folders!  (On purpose!)  This is the first trip in 15 years for which we will begin the trip having memorized our music.  We tried it out last night, having a mock concert for the chaperones after dinner.

We actually just got back on the bus following our first stop at the New Echota historic site.  It was closed, and we were only there for a couple of minutes.  It was the capitol of the Cherokee tribe, and it was the starting point of the Trail of Tears.

So...here we go.  I hope you enjoy reading!
